Supporting Reading at Corpus Christi Primary School

News

Look at the smiles on these young faces! That’s how much they’re enjoying learning to read at Corpus Christi Primary School with the MiniLit Program. Recently, Ash and Suzanne were invited to see the program in action and to say that the kids are enthusiastic would be an understatement. The teachers are just as excited to see the amazing progress the students are making with this new reading intervention program.

This program provides explicit instruction in phonemic awareness, systematic synthetic phonics for reading and spelling, letter formation, and connected text reading. It is specifically aimed at Year 1 and 2 students who require support to develop decoding skills.

“We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Bendigo Bank Seddon for their generous support in resourcing our MiniLit Sage program,” said Principal Anthony Hyde.

“Their contribution has been instrumental in helping us provide targeted, evidence-based literacy support to our early readers. With their support, we are able to give more children the tools and confidence they need to build strong reading foundations — setting them up for long-term success in learning.”

From a branch perspective, we are extremely grateful for the ongoing support of our customers, whose banking enables us to continue to invest in the education and future of our young learners.
