Event Details

WHO :
Sewers and non-sewers – all are welcome! we need help with lots of things like tracing patterns, cutting fabric, ironing, stamping, pinning, sewing, eating cake and drinking tea… – whatever you’re comfortable with. No experience needed. From ninja sewers to crafter-wanna-be, everyone is welcome. You do not need to be a Seddon local to attend – our sewing bees are a free and inclusive event.

WHAT:
Boomerang Bags works to reduce the use of plastic bags by engaging local communities in the making of cloth reusable tote bags, using recycled materials. But even more than that, our sewing bees are a a chance to socialise with like minded people, hone your sewing skills and help our community.

WHEN:
We are currently meeting on the third evening of the month, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. If you can’t make it and still want to get involved there are take home and sew kits available from Far Fetched Designs.

WHERE:
At the moment, our sewing bees are held at 84b Charles Street, Seddon (above Far Fetched Designs) but this is subject to change. Any venue change will be announced on our FB page and emailed to our subscribers.

WHAT TO BRING:
If you have a sewing machine, please bring it along. We have a few donated machines for those that don’t own their own – but it always helps to have more machines going! Even if you are not confident on it, there are many experienced sewers there that can help.
Donations of sewing notions, sewing machines, and fabric (although please check first – there’s a lot of donated fabric to get through before we can accept more) can be made at Far Fetched Designs.
Snacks to share are also always welcome 🙂
