Little Sparks STEM Workshop
April 29 @ 10:30 am - 11:20 am
We know that all little kids are natural scientists and problem solvers. Inspire your little learner to think big and nurture their curiosity for science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
Led by a Scienceworks educator, join us for workshops that explore different STEM topics and encourage children to use their senses to observe, question, predict and investigate the wonders of the world and everyday life.
In a play-based learning setting, you and your little one will listen to stories, sing songs, participate in exciting hands-on STEM challenges, and share discoveries.
Suitable for ages 3 – 5 years. Children aged under 3 are welcome to attend the workshop with their participating older sibling and parent/carer. Parents/carers are expected to participate in the workshop. Recommended maximum of two children per parent/carer.
On each date, workshops run at 10.30am – 11.20am, and then again at 12pm – 12.50pm.
NEXT WORKSHOP: FLOAT YOUR BOAT
It’s sink or swim at the next Little Sparks workshop!
Discover the highs and lows of density as you explore solids, liquids and gases that float or sink. We rise to the top with some unsinkable science demonstrations and hands-on experiments to ask – what is density and what makes things float?
You will design, construct and test your own floating device, using problem-solving and critical thinking to modify your creation so you can load it up! How much weight can it hold? Will it stay dry or will it sink to the bottom? Let your little engineer find out!
Please note: Things are bound to get a little wet and messy at this workshop, so please bring appropriate clothing for your little learner.
