Event Details

In a unique collaboration between Australian visual artist Lisa Roet and wildlife conservation organisation the Jane Goodall Institute, a large-scale sculpture of iconic chimpanzee David Greybeard will be installed outside Hamer Hall.

The 9m x 12m sculpture commemorates the 60th anniversary of Goodall’s pioneering research into chimpanzee and animal behaviour at Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania. It will be a talking point for the city, raising awareness of environmental conservation, art, women and communities.

Following the installation at Hamer Hall, the David Greybeard sculpture will tour to six countries and four continents to raise global awareness of habitat and species protection.
