Friday May 21st in Footscray!
Luke Yeoward & the Nebari All-Stars live on stage supported by Los Tremoleros.
On Friday May 21st we’ll be hosting renowned artist and producer Luke Yeoward his all new band The Nebari All-Stars live on stage, right here in Footscray!
Luke fell in love with music from a young age and taught himself to play on the acoustic guitar handed down to him by his mother. He began as a street performer in Rotorua, New Zealand at 10 years old, and his musical river flowed through his teens and twenties carving its way through different projects, genres, and territories. Now in 2021, Yeoward is back with “Always In Your Heart”, the first single from his new full length solo album MARIGOLD AVENUE, self engineered and produced during the lockdowns in Melbourne 2020.
The first single taken from MARIGOLD AVENUE introduces a new roots focused subsidiary label NEBARI. The debut release on NEBARI will also see the two brand new Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry remix versions of “Always In Your Heart” cut for a 7” vinyl record to be released on April 8 2021, with vinyl pre-orders being announced in March via the Artist First webstore. Yeoward explains that the new single is “something deep and different then anything I’ve ever released before. It’s about being separated from my children. It’s timely and likely relatable because of the COVID-19 restrictions we’re all faced with currently. My studio is at home nowadays, so the kids sing backing vocals on the track too. It’s a very special song to me, so when I was lucky enough to have Lee ‘Sratch’ Perry remix and cut vocals on two different versions, that absolutely blew my mind. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think The Upsetter would dub one of my tunes”.
Along with the new release, 2021 will also see Yeoward front a brand new live band THE NEBARI ALL-STARS featuring; Plutonic Lab (HILLTOP HOODS), Monique Boggia (DEEP STREET SOUL), Rob Ting (KING CANNONS), Chris Toro (8H). “I am so excited to be putting a live show together again. We’re rehearsing hard and the band is absolutely killing it. I can’t wait to be out there again playing some shows and feeling the energy exchange that only happens with performing to an audience. People can expect to hear some of their favourites from over the years, as well as the songs from the new record and a few surprises”.
And don’t forget our Public Bar here at Hotel Westwood is now open, along with it’s Mexican cantina style menu!
