Reaching Out in the Inner West are a local non-for-profit organisation that provides home cooked vegetarian meals, non-perishable food items, clothing, blankets and sleeping bags to people experiencing homelessness or generally struggling.
They have been operating since 2005 and meet every Monday at 5.45pm in Nicholson Street Mall in Footscray.
The team at the branch are requesting donations of non-perishable food items to support the incresing number of recipients that has grown from approximately 80 groups a week to well over 200.
Preferred donations include: long life milk, Weet-Bix, baked beans – two minute noodles – rice – cans & packet soup, lentils – chickpeas – sweet & savoury biscuits, pasta (penne & lasagne sheets) – flour & dry goods.
