On the first weekend in June, Moonee Valley Bridge Club (MVBC) held their annual three-day Super Congress. Over 300 players took part in the card game ‘bridge’, a challenging and highly competitive game that’s popular world-wide.
There was enormous support by the club members, who not only played in the events, but also provided delicious food and offered their time as volunteers. Over half the players who participated in the event came from bridge clubs around Victoria.
Our directors (umpires), Laurie Kelso & Rex Fox worked hard to ensure the sessions ran smoothly. Not only was there lots of great bridge, but the sessions were enhanced by barista coffee provided by Roger and by Frosty running the bar and providing hot food at the completion of play.
Very special congratulations to Greg Nunn & Kathy Radcliffe (MVBC members) who fought hard on table 1 all day Saturday in a strong field to emerge victorious as winners of the Open Swiss pairs. A break between play in the Sunday Teams event.
