Event Details

Come down to the Maribyrnong River and experience the ‘Many Hands Project’! A new and exciting public art and family fun activation taking place behind the Footscray Community Arts Centre.

This activation is a result of an expression of interest process that called for creative ideas to utilise and activate Henderson House Landing. The successful applicants were the River Edge Creative Alliance (RECA), a collaboration between the Waterside Metal Art Studio, BiGfiSh and Footscray Community Arts Centre.

‘Many Hands Project’ will launch on the 29 February where attendees can enjoy a licensed container bar, various free lawn games such as giant jenga, bowls and quoits! Attendees can also try some cold (Blacksmith) forging of positive symbols or icons onto a coin which can be taken home or hung along the railings of the Henderson House Landing forming a temporary art installation.

The launch coincides with the inaugural ‘Inflatable Regatta which shall see 2,000 participants paddling down the Maribyrnong River from the Footscray Rowing Club and docking at Grimes Reserve where there will be an after party.

Taking place from February and all throughout March and is located at the Henderson House Landing along the Maribyrnong River Trail, Footscray.
