The Community Bank Seddon were thrilled to be asked to support the recent Seddon Village T-shirt Design Comp. Locals of all ages were asked to “flex their artistic muscles and create a masterpiece that reflects our beautiful and diverse neighbourhood, Seddon.” The winner would then be the next featured artist of the beloved Seddon t-shirt, much loved and worn by Seddon locals and fans.
With over 120 entries, including a huge selection workshopped by the students of Footscray Primary School, it was a difficult decision for judges Chris Gooden (President of SVTA / owner Seddon Deadly Sins), Jess MacDonald (owner High Tees) and our branch Marketing & Community Engagement Manager, Suzanne Saunders.
“The designs were full of creativity, community, passion and some great humour,” said Suzanne. “We had a lot of laughs. It was so wonderful to see all the different perspectives of Seddon but what stood out was the love of our little community, as well as a sense of hope, optimism and inclusion, especially from our young entrants.”
With the high calibre of entrants, the judge decided that the runners up would have the opportunity to have their artwork reproduced on tote bags as they were just too good not to share with the community.
Many of the entries, including the winners and runners up, are now exhibited in the Community Bank Seddon. T-shirts and tote bags will soon be available for purchase at High Tees, with all funds raised supporting the volunteer work of Seddon Village Traders Association.
