We were founded by marketing executive Gavin Larkin (d. 2011) in 2009. Inspired by the suicide death of his father Barry Larkin, Gavin hoped to encourage more people to take time to reach out to anyone struggling with life.
Today, R U OK? is encouraging everyone to meaningfully connect and support those struggling with life through conversation. Because we’ve all got what it takes to make a difference if we Ask, Listen, Encourage action and Check in.
