Tour a brewery, taste beers, get to know artisanal distilling and see Lebanese cuisine in a new light as we walk the history-rich streets of this special corner of Melbourne.

The evening gets underway in style at Australia’s first female-owned brewery, Two Birds, which celebrates 10 years in business in 2021. We’ll take a tour of the premises, learn a bit about Jayne Lewis and Danielle Allen’s vision for the brewery and (oh yes) do a paddle-tasting of Two Birds’ latest and greatest offerings.

Next stop is Hudsons Road Wine and Beer, where we’ll catch up with another great Spotswood innovator, Ashley Sutherland, founder of Autonomy Distillers, to hear more about local innovation and sustainability in the craft-spirits scene. We’ll also taste Autonomy’s wares alongside some paired cheese and charcuterie.

From there we’ll stroll a little further down Hudsons Road itself to Oscar’s Teta. Oscar’s describes its food as “a blend of traditional Lebanese fare using recipes handed down through generations and taught to us by our Teta, as well as dishes with a more contemporary twist, inspired by the flavours and techniques of authentic Lebanese cuisine”. A satisfying end to a night full of great tastes and even better conversation.
