We are delighted to share that the inaugural Y.E.P.P. cohort has successfully concluded, marking a significant milestone for the program. Six participants completed the cohort, each making meaningful progress toward sustainable employment in their chosen industry pathway.
A standout outcome comes from one of our participants, Zach, who entered the program facing barriers to securing employment in the electrical industry. Through the support of Y.E.P.P., Zach has since completed an interview with an employer in the lift industry and has a second interview scheduled with an electrical employer – a testament to the program’s ability to open doors and expand participants’ employment opportunities. We look forward to reporting a positive outcome in the weeks ahead.
Across the cohort, all participants are actively engaged in job applications, further training, and building the industry connections needed to secure work placements and internships in their respective fields. This level of engagement reflects the program’s success in equipping participants with the tools, confidence, and networks to navigate the employment landscape independently.
To mark the conclusion of the program, we held a graduation celebration that offered an opportunity to reflect on each participant’s journey. Many participants entered Y.E.P.P seeking the confidence to articulate their strengths, skills, or professional direction. This transformation in self-efficacy is at the heart of what Y.E.P.P. aims to achieve, and it was deeply evident on graduation day.
As we celebrate the achievements of our first cohort, we are already looking ahead. Our second cohort commences on the 12th May, and we are eager to welcome the next group of young people ready to take that first step toward meaningful employment. If you know a young person who could benefit from this kind of tailored support, we encourage you to reach out. Every participant who secures an interview, placement, or industry connection is a step toward a stronger, more resilient local community.
